Job Summary
As a Payroll Executive, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, statutory compliance, and payroll record management. This role involves collaboration with HR, finance, and compliance teams to deliver seamless payroll operations while maintaining strict adherence to Indian labour and tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities
(Depending on experience level – Fresher / Experienced)
Core Responsibilities
· Support end-to-end payroll processing ensuring salaries, deductions, incentives and reimbursements are computed accurately and paid on time.
· Maintain and update employee payroll records and databases.
· Ensure statutory compliance with labour laws (PF, ESIC, PT, Bonus, LWF) and assist with related filings and reporting.
· Address payroll-related queries from employees and escalate issues as needed.
· Coordinate inputs from HR & Finance teams to validate attendance, leave, tax declarations, and payroll changes.
· Prepare payroll reports and contribute to MIS dashboards.
· Assist in payroll reconciliations, audits, and statutory inspections.
Additional for Experienced Candidates
· Lead payroll cycles independently with minimal supervision.
· Support process improvements and system integrations for payroll automation.
· Mentor and guide junior payroll staff or trainees.
Qualifications
Fresher's
· Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, HR, Business Administration, or related field.
· Basic understanding of payroll concepts and eagerness to learn statutory compliance.
Experienced
· Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Finance / HR or related discipline.
· Prior experience in payroll processing or HR operations (0–3+ years preferred).
· Exposure to Indian payroll software and HRMS tools.
Skills & Competencies
· Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables).
· Knowledge of Indian labour & payroll laws (PF / ESIC / PT compliance).
· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
· Confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive payroll data.
