Our clients include Army Corps of Engineers, State of California, Department of Water Resources, Sutter Butte Flood Control Agency and Private clients. Human Resources Generalist

Summary of Functions

As a Human Resource Generalist, you will take on a dual role that supports the 500+ employees of Odin Construction. Since Odin is a growing company, you will be a key contributor to the company culture. In addition, you will perform HR activities such as recruitment, onboarding, training and development, and other administrative work. You will be exposed to the executive level decision making and will have the responsibility to complete HR initiatives that support strategic projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Welcome in our new recruits, on-board new hires, and bid farewell by exit interviewing and processing departures.

· Work with hiring managers to recruit for open positions and facilitate the selection of top-notch candidates.

· Administers benefits, open enrollment, terminations, and reporting.

· Works closely with the leadership team to spearhead employee engagement activities.

· Creates and maintains accurate and compliant personnel files, forms, acknowledgements, and HR Shared Drive (electronic files).

· Assist with I-9 compliance, employment verifications, and background checks.

· Manage and maintain HRIS system data changes ensuring accuracy of all employee records and files.

· Coordinate the administration of all employees leave of absences.

· Assist with employee relations, workplace investigations, and compliance related issues.

· Coach and advise management with handling and resolving employee relations issues, provide training when upskilling is necessary.

· Maintain, update, and communicate HR documentation such as employee handbook, policies and procedures, HR forms and templates.

· Conduct employee and supervisor training including benefits, policies and procedures and prevention of harassment and discrimination.

· Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.

· Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices.

· Other duties and projects as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience

Educational and experience requirements include: 4-year degree in business/employee relations or equivalent or 2 year personnel experience or equivalent combinations of training and related experience in HR field.

Advanced knowledge of corporate policies, procedures, benefits; wage and salary/compensation plans; computerized data systems; work performance evaluation and motivation techniques plus advanced knowledge of all facets of labor relations, personnel and safety including federal regulations essential.

Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour
