Job Description: Plant HR Generalist
Location: Dera Bassi
Experience Required: 3–5 Years
Industry Preference: Manufacturing / Automotive / Engineering / Pharma / FMCG (as applicable)
Position Overview
The Plant HR Generalist will be responsible for managing end-to-end HR operations at the manufacturing plant, ensuring smooth workforce management, statutory compliance, employee relations, hiring, and day-to-day HR activities. The role requires hands-on involvement on the shop floor, strong coordination with functional heads, and the ability to maintain a productive and compliant workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities1. Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manage manpower planning and coordinate with department heads to understand staffing needs.
- Handle recruitment for staff, workmen, contract labour, apprentices, and trainees.
- Conduct interviews, shortlist candidates, and coordinate final selection.
- Oversee onboarding, induction, documentation, and plant orientation programs.
2. HR Operations & Administration
- Maintain employee records, attendance, leave management, and shift scheduling.
- Ensure timely preparation of HR reports, MIS, and dashboards for management review.
- Manage HRIS updates and prepare monthly HR metrics.
3. Payroll & Statutory Compliance
- Support monthly payroll inputs, attendance reconciliation, overtime calculations, etc.
- Ensure compliance with labour laws such as Factories Act, PF, ESIC, Bonus, Gratuity, and Maternity Benefits.
- Coordinate with government departments or auditors during inspections.
- Handle contractor management, including CLRA documentation and compliance audits.
4. Employee Relations & Industrial Relations
- Maintain healthy employee relations and resolve grievances related to workplace issues, policies, or behaviour.
- Conduct open houses, counselling, and disciplinary proceedings when required.
- Build strong rapport with workmen and contract labour to minimize conflicts.
- Support management in IR matters and ensure harmony on the shop floor.
5. Training & Development
- Conduct TNA (Training Need Analysis) for plant employees.
- Organize safety trainings, skill-building sessions, behavioural workshops, etc.
- Maintain training calendars and ensure compliance with mandatory training programs.
6. Performance Management
- Assist in the implementation of PMS at plant level.
- Coordinate goal setting, mid-year reviews, and annual appraisals.
- Work with managers to identify high performers and skill gaps.
7. Health, Safety & Welfare
- Ensure implementation of HR initiatives aligned with safety standards.
- Coordinate welfare programs, medical checkups, canteen management, transport, and other employee services.
- Support the Safety team in incident reporting and corrective actions.
8. Policy Implementation
- Communicate and implement company HR policies at the plant.
- Ensure discipline, adherence to code of conduct, and smooth functioning of HR procedures.
- Recommend policy improvements based on ground-level feedback.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of labour laws and plant HR operations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and grievance-handling skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently at a plant location
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
