POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Generalist performs a variety of work exercising independent discretion and judgment in support of various HR functions, policies, and programs. Collaborates with employees, operations leadership, and other human resources personnel to carry out effective HR support. Provides administrative assistance and/or project assistance to the Plant Manager, Plant Supervisors, and others as needed. Exercises independent judgment and discretion in the interpretation and application of Company policies, procedures, and employment laws in support of business operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs a variety of professional and administrative level tasks in multiple functional areas including recruiting, employee relations, compliance, HRIS maintenance, benefits, and leave administration.

Provides guidance to employees, managers, and business leaders related to Company and HR policies, procedures, and programs; ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and corporate policies.

Conducts the recruiting process with supervisors, safety, and plant management for internal and external candidates.

Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes including pre-employment requirements, benefits enrollment, and exit interviews.

Leads employee relations matters including conflict resolution, workplace investigations as appropriate, coaching managers, and reviewing corrective action documentation.

Monitors leave administration through an external administrator ensuring compliance with ADA, FMLA, and USERRA.

Assists with required employee training compliance.

Maintains attendance systems and administers hourly attendance counseling policies.

Maintains HRIS records ensuring data integrity for job changes, compensation, and employment status.

Assists with wage and hour compliance and coordination with payroll.

Participates in safety committees, administers safety programs, and assists with workers’ compensation documentation.

Coordinates employee engagement activities and recognition programs.

Assists leadership with projects, correspondence, and administrative support.

Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree and three or more years of Human Resources experience preferred. HR certification or additional experience may substitute for a degree.
Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, USERRA, FLSA, EEO, and general employment law.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretionary judgment.
PHYSICAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position is primarily office-based with required plant exposure and variable environmental conditions. Schedule may require extended hours to meet business needs.
