The Human Resource Generalist works with the Factory Management and HR team to provide complex and confidential Human Resource services. Some of the duties include factory hourly employee recruitment, orientation, resolution of day-to-day employment matters, pay and benefit set-up and communication. This position also provides support for miscellaneous human resources activities as necessary working to position the Company as an employer of choice.

The principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and promote a positive work culture through Company Values of Safety, Integrity, Quality, Teamwork, and Accountability.
  • Partners with local factory management to effectively resolve hourly employee relations issues with a focus on being an Employer of Choice.
  • Consults and coordinates closely with corporate HR staff on hourly employee recruiting, benefits, HRIS, labor relations, communications, and other HR matters.
  • Works to determine factory vacancies and provide recruitment efforts to fill open positions. Duties include posting open position, tracking applicants, interview & selection and orientation.
  • Effectively communicate and administer Company policies, procedures and collective bargaining agreements
  • Assist local management with employee layoffs, recall and tracking.
  • Accountable for timely maintenance of hourly employee records within Company’s HRIS system.
  • Gathers and maintain hourly employee records.
  • Monitors and maintains employee attendance program.
  • Provides an open door and timely, consistent follow up for employee questions, complaints and concerns.
  • Works with factory management to ensure new hires are orientated effectively and all appropriate employees take part in annual orientation.
  • Coordinates grievance process, working with Factory management on resolution.
  • Support positive roll outs of companywide HR related initiatives.
  • Oversees the drug and alcohol testing program.
  • Completes other human relation activities and other duties as assigned.

To be successful in this position requires general knowledge of human resource activities and practices, benefit programs, recruitment process/procedures and collective bargaining agreements. These skills are typically gained through the completion of a two-year degree in human resources or related field with three to five years of human resources experience, preferably in an industrial environment. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel applications, administrative abilities including time management with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail are essential. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization and maintaining confidentiality are also important.

Compensation Range:

$81,045.89 - $101,307.36 Annual Salary
