HR Generalist

Where You Come In

As our HR Generalist, you will serve as the primary HR support for Summit’s Rock Hill facility while staying connected to our broader team through regular visits to Summit locations across our growing footprint.

This role is highly visible and relationship driven, supporting employees and managers through recruiting, employee relations, compliance, onboarding, and day-to-day HR support in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

As Summit continues to grow, this role also offers meaningful opportunity for professional growth and expanded responsibility within the HR function.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage full cycle recruiting across Summit locations
  • Own onboarding activities and new hire compliance documentation
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for workers’ compensation claims
  • Support employee relations matters, including coaching conversations, investigations, conflict resolution, and policy guidance
  • Maintain a visible and approachable HR presence for employees and managers
  • Support FMLA and leave administration in partnership with the HR Director
  • Process employment verifications and unemployment claims
  • Support HR communications and employee engagement initiatives
  • Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and multi-state employment laws and HR practices
  • Partner with the HR Director to support HR initiatives across MBP Group sister companies as needed
  • Travel regularly to Summit locations to build relationships and provide on-site HR support
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, organization, follow-up, and HR operational support

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now or a comparable HRIS platform
  • Understanding of employment law, FMLA, ADA, and HR compliance fundamentals
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and dependable with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment with regular interaction on the production floor
  • Willingness to travel regularly to Summit locations for on-site support and relationship building
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field a plus

Pay & Schedule

  • Salary | Exempt
  • Competitive compensation based on experience
  • Full-time | Monday through Friday | On Site
  • Regular travel to Summit locations, with all travel expenses covered
