HR Generalist -Aggregates Division- 4237

Position Overview

The HR Generalist will provide essential support to the HR department in various HR functions, including onboarding, employee relations, and administrative tasks. This role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of HR processes and supporting the overall employee experience.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities (Essential Functions)

  • Acts as first point of contact for employees with workplace questions or concerns.
  • Provides daily HR support to employees and managers, ensuring effective delivery of HR services and administrative tasks.
  • Travel regularly to aggregate plant locations to provide onsite HR support, including employee relations, onboarding, and training needs.
  • Conducts exit and stay interviews.
  • Supports the onboarding process by communicating with candidates during the pre-employment phase through their first day to ensure a seamless transition.
  • Ensures successful onboarding program by conducting 30, 60, and 90-day check-ins with new team members.
  • Serve as backup for the Cement Division HR Generalist, including responsibility for orientation and other HR functions when that role is unavailable.
  • Assists employees with benefits enrollment and works with the corporate benefits department to resolve benefits-related issues.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS, and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Must possess strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in an HR role or administrative support role.
  • Experience in the construction, manufacturing, or mining industry is a plus.
  • Knowledge of applicant tracking systems (ATS) preferred.
  • Bilingual required.

  • Ability to read and understand information presented in writing.
  • Ability to supervise own work and be self-motivated.
  • Ability to abide by company safety policies and procedures and to work safely within a fast-paced environment.
