Position Summary
This role is ideal for an HR professional who is passionate about benefits and enjoys working across a diverse client base. Approximately 90% of this role is dedicated to benefits administration, making it a great fit for someone who wants to deepen their expertise and play a critical role in client success.
You’ll partner closely with HR Business Partners, Payroll, and external vendors to deliver a seamless, compliant, and high-quality benefits experience.
Lead Benefits Administration (Primary Focus)
- Own the day-to-day administration of employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, FSA, HSA, COBRA, and 401(k)
- Lead open enrollment from start to finish, configuration, communication, and employee support
- Conduct monthly billing audits and proactively resolve discrepancies
- Oversee COBRA administration and ensure full regulatory compliance
- Support FMLA and leave tracking as it relates to benefits eligibility
- Serve as a trusted resource for clients and employees, resolving questions with confidence and care
- Partner with carriers, brokers, and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
- Maintain accurate and clean benefits data within HRIS systems
Deliver Exceptional Client Experience
- Provide high-touch, responsive support across a multi-client PEO environment
- Interpret and clearly communicate benefits plans, eligibility, and compliance requirements
- Support audits, reporting, and ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Collaborate Across Teams
- Partner closely with Payroll to ensure accurate benefit deductions and client billing
- Support onboarding and benefits enrollment processes
- Work cross-functionally to ensure a seamless client and employee experience
- Maintain strong data integrity and documentation within HR systems
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
- PHR, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus
Experience
- 3–7+ years of HR experience with a strong focus on benefits administration
- Experience supporting multiple clients or business units preferred
- PEO, HRO, or broker experience is highly valued
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of employee benefits, compliance, and regulations
- Experience with COBRA, open enrollment, billing audits, and leave administration
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Exceptional customer service mindset; you’re responsive, solutions-oriented, and proactive
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office (PrismHR experience is a plus)
