Dessert Holdings is looking for a Human Resources Generalistto join our team based in Aurora, CO. The Human Resources Generalist contributes to the accomplishment of HR tasks and objectives, which foster an employee-oriented, high performance culture emphasizing engagement, productivity, quality and the ongoing development of a superior workforce.This position is responsible for supporting HR policies and programs with an emphasis on Employee Relations, General HR activities, Performance Management, and HR Administration, while ensuring that the organization is in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This position is also responsible for understanding related Quality Management Systems including SQF, HACCP, and GMP to ensure safety and quality of employees and products.The job duties include responsibility for assuring food safety and for food quality for Dessert Holdings products.


The typical hiring range for this role is $65,000 to $85,000 annually and is based on several factors such as education, work experience, skills, certifications, location, etc. In addition to pay, Dessert Holdings offersbenefits such as a choice of comprehensive medical plans, dental and vision insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and retirement contribution to all eligible employees.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides full cycle employee relations activities that include communications, conflict resolution, and coaching/education to employees and managers.
  • Conducts employee investigations and makes recommendations for resolution. Manages the investigation process from start to finish with proper documentation and employee/management follow up.
  • Partners with managers in matters of policies, practices and procedures for the organization to ensure uniformity of application of company policy and compliance with current and pending legal regulations.
  • Assists with implementing HR policies and procedures, responds to employees' inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs and promotes understanding and compliance by all employees.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Provide daily Human Resource guidance, advice, and support to employees and managers on all functional areas of HR to include but not limited to benefits administration, leave of absence, payroll coordination, company policy interpretation and overall HR communication.
  • Analyze HR metrics and translate data into actionable insights for leaders,prepare professional documents conforming to regulatory standards andapply diplomacy to sensitive situations
  • Assists with compliance with federal, state and local laws, regulations, and ordinances including FMLA, ADAAA, EEO, FLSA, ADEA, HIPPA, Title 7, USERRA and Workers Compensation
  • Assists with performance management efforts, including annual performance review training for manager and employee
  • Performs duties under indirect supervision, applying a broad knowledge of principles, practices, procedures and employment law.
  • Participates in company-wide HR initiatives and long-term HR planning.
  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Effectively and efficiently fulfills all applicable reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Assists with conducting safety investigation and training meetings as assigned.
  • May assist with onboarding/orientation and benefits meetings as required.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree is highly preferred or relevant experience in lieu of education
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (speaking/reading/writing) required
  • At least 3-5 years of professional human resources experience required
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred
  • Human resources experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Solid knowledge of all federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing employers and employees
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation standards and expectations
  • Basic knowledge of the principles and practices of compensation
  • Solid knowledge of benefit administration and leave of absence administration
  • Strong conflict resolution and mediation skills
  • Flexibility and resiliency in the face of change and business pressures with the ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment with changing priorities
  • Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word required
