HR Generalist / Payroll Administrator

Position Overview

I am seeking an experienced HR Generalist / Payroll Administrator for a confidential client to manage day-to-day HR operations and payroll for our logistics company of approximately 100 employees. This hands-on role supports the full employee lifecycle and serves as a trusted resource to employees and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll & Timekeeping

  • Process accurate and timely weekly payroll
  • Manage timekeeping, PTO tracking, payroll adjustments, and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Serve as primary point of contact for payroll-related questions

Human Resources Administration

  • Administer onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Maintain employee records and HR systems
  • Support recruiting, interviews, and offer documentation
  • Assist with employee relations and HR inquiries, including worker’s compensation claims

Benefits, Compliance & HR Support

  • Coordinate benefits enrollment, changes, and leave administration
  • Liaise with benefits providers and payroll vendors
  • Maintain HR policies, documentation, and compliance requirements
  • Provide HR guidance to employees and leadership as needed

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • 3+ years of HR and payroll administration experience
  • Experience processing payroll for hourly and salaried employees
  • Strong knowledge of HR compliance and confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a small-company environment
  • Proficiency with HRIS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office

Preferred

  • Experience in logistics, transportation, manufacturing, or similar environments
  • HR or payroll certifications (PHR, SHRM-CP, CPP), a plus
  • College degree preferred but not required. Relevant experience valued above education

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
