Position Overview
I am seeking an experienced HR Generalist / Payroll Administrator for a confidential client to manage day-to-day HR operations and payroll for our logistics company of approximately 100 employees. This hands-on role supports the full employee lifecycle and serves as a trusted resource to employees and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll & Timekeeping
- Process accurate and timely weekly payroll
- Manage timekeeping, PTO tracking, payroll adjustments, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Serve as primary point of contact for payroll-related questions
Human Resources Administration
- Administer onboarding and offboarding processes
- Maintain employee records and HR systems
- Support recruiting, interviews, and offer documentation
- Assist with employee relations and HR inquiries, including worker’s compensation claims
Benefits, Compliance & HR Support
- Coordinate benefits enrollment, changes, and leave administration
- Liaise with benefits providers and payroll vendors
- Maintain HR policies, documentation, and compliance requirements
- Provide HR guidance to employees and leadership as needed
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- 3+ years of HR and payroll administration experience
- Experience processing payroll for hourly and salaried employees
- Strong knowledge of HR compliance and confidentiality
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a small-company environment
- Proficiency with HRIS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office
Preferred
- Experience in logistics, transportation, manufacturing, or similar environments
- HR or payroll certifications (PHR, SHRM-CP, CPP), a plus
- College degree preferred but not required. Relevant experience valued above education
