Description of Duties:


We’re seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused HR Generalist & Payroll Specialist to join our team. This hybrid position plays a key role in managing day-to-day HR operations while ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys supporting employees, and is passionate about creating an efficient, compliant, and positive workplace.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Contribute to HR projects, process improvements, and culture initiatives.
  • Process bi-weekly (or applicable) payroll accurately and on schedule for all employees.
  • Review and reconcile timecards, deductions, bonuses, and commissions.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax, wage, and hour laws.
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports, audits, and filings as needed.
  • Collaborate with Finance/Accounting on payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all payroll and employee data.

Desired Skills and Experience:


  • 3 – 5 years of experience in HR and payroll functions, ideally in a mid-sized organization.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and payroll compliance.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, UKG, or Paylocity).
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Professional certifications (PHR, SHRM-CP, or FPC/CPP) are a plus.
  • Able to perform more varied and difficult tasks.
  • Able to work in a collaborative team environment to obtain the best results.
  • Approaches challenges with a positive, consultative mindset
  • Self-starter with the desire to achieve and work with integrity.
  • Willingness to grow and change through ambiguity.
  • Learning agility, or the ability to develop new skills.

Working Schedule:


Hybrid in local Indianapolis, IN.


Education:


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
