Job Overview:
TAZ Trucking is a professional family-owned business located in the TAZ Business Center. We are seeking a Human Resources professional to join our team in a generalist/assistant role. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in various HR functions, including general compliance, FMLA, Worker's Compensation, benefits administration, OSHA reporting, employee relations, and employee file management in addition to assisting the HR Director. Duties:
- Assist in administering healthcare plans and wellness programs, from medical and dental benefits to disability and family leave
- Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments and assist with open enrollment process
- Run reports and perform quality checks of benefits-related data; coordinate with Payroll/Accounting; reconcile invoices; monitor claims data
- Administer the worker's compensation program, managing recording and claims, regulatory compliance, and investigations
- Recruit for open terminal and driving positions using Indeed and TenStreet; process driver applications, run reports, schedule drug screens, and make travel arrangements for candidates
- Oversee employee orientation; prepare for and host these weekly events, present data, ensure day's tasks are completed, and assess driver candidates during onboarding; maintain HR training materials and onboarding paperwork
- Maintain training manuals; interact effectively with all departments to update data as needed
- Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently; use Excel spreadsheets for program, case, and data management
- Assist with workplace conflicts and disciplinary issues as needed in partnership with HR Director and other leaders
- Assist HR Director and maintain communication on all cases, projects, situations, events; work closely to maximize HR and recruiting efforts
Ideal Candidate:
- Working knowledge of HR and Benefits laws and regulations
- Experienced in handling FMLA, ADA, Worker's Compensation
- Highly effective research and analytical skills
- Proficient in investigative and evaluation techniques
- Highly skilled in written and verbal communication
- Experienced and skilled at handling situations professionally; calm demeanor; ability to effectively mediate if necessary
- Excellent project and case management skills
- Proficient computer skills including Excel; ability to learn a new system quickly
- Adaptable to changing priorities within a fast paced work environment
- High personal and professional ethical standards
- Uncompromising confidentiality of data, both physically and verbally
