The Human Resources Manager at Pacific Seafood is a key role on our admin team supporting efforts the organization's overall success by ensuring compliance, overseeing admin functions, providing onboarding support, managing performance, fostering employee engagement, maintaining positive employee relations, analyzing data, assisting team members and leadership with benefits and leave needs, and maintaining records. This position involves performance management, data analysis, and managing relationships with employees and is ideal for someone who is adaptable, able to build positive relationships, analytical, and organized.
1. Human Resources Management and Compliance:
- Partner with site leadership and divisional HR to develop and execute site specific HR strategies that align with divisional priories while driving consistency and compliance
- Ensure compliance with Team Member Handbook, safety requirements, and all applicable employment laws and regulations
- Conduct and support employee relations investigations, corrective actions and conflict resolution in partnership with Division HR
- Apply sound judgement and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information
- KPIs: compliance audit outcomes, investigations/corrective actions and reduction in repeat employee relations issues
2. Payroll, HRIS and Data Accuracy:
- Prepare, maintain and audit accurate team member records in UKG and related systems
- Manage timekeeping systems and bi-weekly payroll processing, including new hire set up and supervisor training on approvals
- Escalate payroll or compliance issues to division HR leadership as needed
- Support accurate execution of non standard pay structures (piecework, shift differentials and seasonal incentives)
- Analyze and report HR data including turnover, attendance, training completion, and seasonal trends
- Provide actionable site-level insights to the Aquaculture HR Director to support strategic decisions
- KPIs: accurate, timely payroll with zero material errors, HR reporting and HRIS data accuracy
3. Talent Acquisition, Onboarding and Workforce readiness:
- Partner with division recruiting to support hiring events, job fairs, interviews and seasonal ramp-ups
- Administer new hire orientation and ensure onboarding is completed accurately and on time
- Support seasonal staffing readiness and workforce planning at the site level
- KPIs: time to fill for critical roles, seasonal staffing readiness metrics and new hire onboarding completion rates
4. Engagement, Performance and Succession Support
- Execute employee engagement plans, recognition programs and service award events
- Participate in performance review cycles, compensation processes and coordination efforts
- Support site level succession planning and leadership pipeline development
- Assist with safety initiatives and compliance audits
- KPIs: turnover rates, engagement participation, safety and training compliance rates
5. Administrative Duties:
- Answer telephone inquiries, greet visitors, and route communications appropriately
- Maintain office equipment, supplies, and company devices with a focus on cost efficiency
- Coordinate with IT to ensure proper hardware/software provisioning, troubleshooting, and equipment recovery
- Provide general administrative support as needed
- KPIs: accurate maintenance of site administrative records, timely IT onboarding and offboarding support
6. Operations Group support:
- Reconcile and track credit card transactions, budget, and general ledger, when needed.
- Assist with travel needs and logistics for leaders.
- Work with onsite coordinator to ensure workers comp issues are addressed and resolved.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position.
Required:
- Associate degree from an accredited college or university in related field.
- Minimum of five years related Human Resources experience.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
- Previous HR experience in a manufacturing, processing, or distribution environment.
- Bilingual written, verbal, and reading skills in English and Spanish languages.
- PHR/SHRM certification.
