We are seeking a skilled and motivated HR Manager to join our leadership team. This is a key role in ensuring our school continues to recruit, retain and develop exceptional staff who can make a positive difference.

The Role
The HR Manager will support the Principal / CEO in the leadership and oversight of all aspects of human resources within the school. This will include providing professional advice and support to leaders, managing the staff recruitment and retention process, ensuring compliance with Qatar and GEMS employment legislation, as well as championing staff wellbeing and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead the full HR function, including recruitment, onboarding, contracts, employee relations, and staff exit processes.

· Advise senior leaders on HR policies, employment law, and best practice to support effective decision-making.

· Oversee safeguarding checks and rigorous safer recruitment processes, ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements.

· Manage staff absence and work closely with the leadership team in managing performance, appraisal systems, and professional development processes.

· Support a positive workplace culture, promoting staff wellbeing, inclusion, and engagement.

· Maintain accurate and confidential HR records / dashboards and prepare reports for leadership and other relevant stakeholders

· Liaise with external agencies (e.g. regulators, inspection teams) as required.

· Provide guidance and support to line managers to ensure consistency in people management across the school.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

· HR management experience.

· Strong knowledge of HR best practice.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels.

· Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in a busy school environment.

· A proactive, solution-focused approach with high levels of integrity and confidentiality.

· A HR / Business Administration related qualification (desirable).

· Attention to detail with diligent follow up and able to execute in a timely manner.
