HR Manager (Recruitment + Compliance)

Role summary

Own targeted hiring for ~10–15 management/office roles and the core shop-floor team, then take full ownership of HR compliance and operations. Clear growth path to HR Head. Hybrid role with occasional visits to Changodar.

Responsibilities

  • Recruitment (initial focus)
  • Hire management/office roles: production planning, QA/QC, stores, procurement, maintenance coordination, logistics, accounts/admin, HR/IR support, line supervisors.
  • Build phased shop-floor team (stitching, cutting, printing, finishing, packing) via portals, local networks, ITIs/skill centres, and agencies.
  • Draft JDs, run interviews/assessments, manage offers, onboarding, documentation.
  • Maintain hiring tracker and simple ATS/Sheets workflow.
  • HR operations
  • Roll out HR policies/handbook, SOPs; manage records, attendance/leave, exits; run induction and engagement.
  • Compliance (manufacturing)
  • Ensure Factories Act & Gujarat Factories Rules, CLRA, Wages/Minimum Wages/Bonus/Gratuity, ESIC/EPF, Professional Tax, POSH, Shops & Establishments (office as applicable), Standing Orders (as applicable).
  • Manage registrations, licenses, returns, inspections; ensure contractor compliance.
  • Payroll coordination
  • Provide accurate monthly inputs; verify statutory deductions; coordinate with payroll vendor.
  • Safety/IR/audits
  • Support HSE trainings/committees; grievance handling and disciplinary processes per law.
  • Reporting and growth
  • Monthly HR/compliance reports; support leadership; grow into HR Head.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years in HR with 2+ years in a manufacturing setup covering recruitment and statutory compliance.
  • Working knowledge of Gujarat labour laws; hands-on with ESIC/EPF portals.
  • Experience hiring shop-floor and supervisory roles in small/mid-size plants.
  • Strong English communication and documentation; Excel/Google Sheets proficiency.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA/PGDM in HR preferred.

Nice to have

  • Textiles/garments/bag manufacturing experience; contractor management; shift rostering; setting up HR processes in new plants.

Personal attributes

  • Dynamic, hands-on, organized; follows instructions; strong ownership and detail orientation.
  • Professional and discreet; confident with authorities, auditors, vendors.
  • Willing to visit Changodar occasionally.

Location and work mode

  • Ahmedabad (hybrid); occasional Changodar visits. Full-time.
  • In future, we may require for this role to come in full time.

Compensation

  • Competitive; based on experience. Growth path to HR Head.
