HR, Payroll and Onboarding Specialist

ShowPhaze is an established event production crewing company. We provide freelance and part time Audiovisual Technicians with competitively paid opportunities in the corporate event and conference world. We operate nationally, with much of our work taking place in Austin, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and New Orleans, and various other markets.

We are looking for a highly organized, tech-savvy, and motivated individual to join our team in a role focused on payroll, HR, onboarding, and general administrative support. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, communicates well, learns quickly, and enjoys helping create smooth internal systems and processes in a fast-paced environment.

Because ShowPhaze relies heavily on technology to streamline operations, this role requires someone who is very comfortable working within apps, software platforms, and digital workflows. Experience with ADP is required, and candidates should be confident navigating onboarding systems, payroll processes, employee records, and internal administrative tools. Bonus if you have an interest in utilizing AI to help streamline your workflows.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of ADP is required
  • Strong technical skills and the ability to quickly learn and navigate apps and software platforms
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, especially Sheets, Docs, Calendar, and Gmail
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • The ability to multitask and shift priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to work independently and stay productive without constant oversight
  • A professional demeanor in person, over email, and on the phone
  • A dependable and team-oriented attitude

  • The ability to handle high-volume workloads during busy seasons (Spring and Fall)

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing onboarding for new employees and contractors
  • Processing payroll and payroll-related follow-up
  • Working within ADP and other internal systems to ensure employees are properly onboarded and set up for payment
  • Supporting HR related administrative functions
  • Following up with employees and contractors regarding missing onboarding items or incomplete paperwork
  • Assisting with general administrative duties and internal workflow support
  • Communicating with labor coordinators, office staff, and ownership regarding onboarding and payroll needs
  • Helping maintain organized and accurate digital employee records
  • Assisting with process improvements as our systems and app continue to grow
  • Staying on top of emails, deadlines, and time-sensitive employee matters
  • Helping support the team with additional administrative tasks as needed

The right person will be comfortable working with employees and contractors, following detailed processes, and adapting as systems evolve. Since we are continuing to build and improve our internal app and onboarding systems, being tech-forward and adaptable is a must.

Schedule:

  • Full time
  • Monday through Friday
  • Day shift
  • 75% Remote / 25% office in Manor, Texas
  • Overtime or after-hours work during busy seasons and large events

Location Requirement:

Applicants must be able to reliably work remotely 75 percent of the time and attend required in-person events, trainings, and office meetings 25 percent of the time. Routine travel to the office associated with the role is the responsibility of the employee, unless travel is required for business outside the normal work arrangement.
