Position Summary
The Human Resources (HR) People Manager is a dynamic and strategic leader who supports the organization’s mission through the attraction, development, and retention of exceptional talent. This individual will champion a culture of innovation, inclusivity, and engagement—ensuring every employee feels valued, supported, and empowered to contribute their best work.

Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Drive creative recruiting strategies to attract high-performing healthcare professionals.
- Align staffing models with patient care demands across multiple states.
- Anticipate workforce needs and implement innovative staffing solutions to address industry challenges.
Employee Engagement & Retention
- Develop and execute programs that enhance engagement, well-being, and professional fulfillment.
- Analyze employee feedback and design retention strategies that strengthen connection and purpose.
- Foster an environment where employees feel inspired, supported, and recognized for their contributions.
Performance Management
- Lead performance appraisal and development programs that promote accountability and growth.
- Guide leaders in delivering meaningful feedback and fostering career progression.
- Identify and develop emerging leaders through proactive talent planning.
Training & Development
- Build impactful onboarding and continuous learning programs using modern learning systems.
- Establish mentoring and leadership pathways that cultivate internal talent.
- Encourage a culture of curiosity, skill development, and professional excellence.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a trusted advisor to both employees and leaders, providing guidance on complex workplace issues.
- Promote fairness, transparency, and consistency in the application of HR policies.
- Resolve conflicts with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
Compliance & Labor Laws
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations nationwide (FMLA, OSHA, HIPAA, etc.).
- Maintain readiness for Joint Commission standards and healthcare accreditation requirements across all states.
- Educate leaders on best practices for compliance and risk management.

- Monitor industry trends and make recommendations to support employee satisfaction and retention.
HR Strategy & Analytics
- Use HR analytics to evaluate workforce trends and guide data-driven decisions.
- Partner with leadership to implement HR initiatives that support organizational growth and innovation.
- Continuously improve processes for efficiency and impact.
- Champion initiatives that celebrate diversity and build an inclusive culture.
- Ensure policies and programs promote equity, belonging, and mutual respect.
- Actively contribute to making Headlands ATS a place where all voices are valued.
Qualifications
Education
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
- 8-10 years of progressive HR experience with 5+ years in a leadership capacity.
- Strong background in employee engagement, employee relations, and workforce strategy.
- Healthcare or behavioral health industry experience is highly preferred.
Certifications
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or CHHR required.
Knowledge & Skills
- Deep understanding of HR principles, talent management, and organizational development.
- Strong knowledge of labor law, healthcare compliance, and Joint Commission standards.
- Proficiency with HRIS, analytics, and learning management systems.
- Exceptional communication, coaching, and mediation skills.
- Comfortable navigating complex challenges with creativity and composure.
- Proven ability to lead teams, build trust, and influence across all levels of an organization.
