HR Recruiter/ Safety Coordinator

SD Polymers is a family-owned plastic industrial recycling and compounding company based in Macon, GA since 1998. The company is experiencing significant growth consulting and supplying commercial roofing manufacturers and developing sustainable programs for plastic injection molders, compounders, and fiber manufacturers. We divert millions of pounds of plastic waste-streams from landfill every year and repurpose material back into the economy by adding value using our technical knowledge, state-of-the-art mechanical recycling equipment, and in-house QC and R&D Lab.

We are looking for a proactive HR Recruiter/Safety Coordinator with experience in an Industrial Environment. This person will report to the Plant Mgr of the company. For this strategic position this is initially a 25 hr part-time position that could grow into a full-time position.

Job Duties

· Recruitment & Hiring: Develop job postings, screen candidates, conduct interviews, manage the onboarding process, and hiring documentation.

· Safety & Compliance: Implement OSHA and company safety policies, conduct safety audits, and investigate incidents to determine root causes.

· Training & Education: Coordinate and deliver safety training (e.g., OSHA 10/30, emergency procedures) to employees.

· Documentation & Records: Maintain safety records and drug/alcohol testing programs.

· Incident Management: Manage workers' compensation claims, record injuries, and oversee return-to-duty programs.

· Policy Enforcement: Proactively identify hazards and enforce company policy.

· Maintain Safety Supplies

Job Qualifications:

· Education: A high school diploma or GED is required, though a bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Human Resources, or a related field is strongly preferred.

· Experience: 1–3 years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, or construction environments.

· Certifications: OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour card is often required or strongly preferred.

· Knowledge: Strong understanding of OSHA

· Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Compensation:

· Paid Vacation and Holiday Time Off

· $40-$50k/yr

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
