ABOUT MSC

Minnesota Sodding Company (MSC) is a Minnesota-based sports turf and landscaping company specializing in athletic field installation and maintenance, commercial site landscaping, prairie management, and township maintenance. We're a tight-knit team that takes our work seriously — and has a lot of fun doing it.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for an HR & Safety Generalist to lead our HR and safety programs, champion our workplace culture, and keep our office running smoothly. This is a hands-on role where you'll wear a lot of hats — supporting employees and managers, managing onboarding and benefits, coordinating our safety program, and occasionally backing up bookkeeping. You'll have real ownership of what you build here.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead HR processes including onboarding, benefits administration, and payroll
  • Coordinate and manage MSC's safety program and compliance
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers on HR and workplace matters
  • Support supervisors with guidance on performance, policy, and employee relations
  • Maintain and improve HR documentation, processes, and systems
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive workplace culture
  • Provide general office and administrative support
  • Provide backup bookkeeping support as needed

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2+ years of HR experience
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, diverse environment
  • Located within approximately one hour of Welch, MN (southeast of Minneapolis/St. Paul)

Preferred:

  • 2+ years of experience specifically as an HR Generalist
  • Spanish-speaking skills
