We are seeking a highly organized and proactive HR & Business Manager to lead human resources functions and support financial and administrative operations in partnership with the CFO. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth internal operations, compliance, and strong organizational support across teams.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and new hire documentation
  • Maintain and update Employee Handbook and HR systems
  • Process staff reimbursements and conduct salary surveys
  • Ensure compliance with policies and state/federal regulations
  • Communicate HR and business updates to staff

Business & Financial Operations

  • Oversee administrative and business office functions
  • Manage accounts payable/receivable, bank deposits, and reconciliations
  • Support contracts, MOAs, insurance renewals, licensing, and certifications
  • Assist with annual audit preparation and equipment inventory
  • Provide operational and logistics support for events, including the Annual Conference
  • Collaborate with IT and grants teams as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; degree preferred (experience may substitute)
  • Experience in bookkeeping and standard accounting practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, QuickBooks, Adobe, and Apple tools
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively
  • Understanding of Alaska’s cultures and education systems preferred

Working Conditions

  • Primarily based in the Juneau office
  • Occasional travel and weekend work for conferences or trainings
  • Some lifting (up to 40 lbs.) and extended computer use required

Compensation & Benefits

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday (8:00 am – 5:00 pm)
  • Salary DOE
