HRIS Data Analyst

Position Summary

The HR Data Analyst provides comprehensive analytical and administrative support to the HR department with a focus on Paylocity HRIS reporting and data management. This entry-to-mid level position offers extensive learning opportunities in HRIS administration while handling critical data analysis functions. Growth opportunities within the department are contingent upon departmental expansion and organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Reporting (40%)

  • Generate routine and ad-hoc reports using Paylocity reporting tools
  • Create basic dashboards and data visualizations for HR leadership
  • Analyze workforce trends, turnover patterns, and hiring metrics
  • Perform data validation and accuracy checks on HR information
  • Assist with automated reporting setup and maintenance
  • Support performance management data analysis and reporting

Paylocity System Support & Learning (35%)

  • Learn Paylocity system navigation and basic administrative functions
  • Assist with data entry, updates, and routine system maintenance
  • Support HRIS Administrator with system testing and troubleshooting
  • Participate in Paylocity training sessions and user certification programs
  • Help with employee data management and record keeping
  • Shadow experienced team members on complex system processes
  • Gain proficiency in multiple Paylocity modules over time

Administrative Support & Employee Services (20%)

  • Process routine Personnel Action Forms (PAFs) for basic changes
  • Handle employee data inquiries and provide administrative support
  • Assist with high-volume administrative requests and filing
  • Support onboarding documentation and data entry processes
  • Help maintain employee records and HR documentation systems
  • Provide backup coverage for routine HR administrative tasks

Project Support & Process Documentation (5%)

  • Assist with HR projects and special initiatives as assigned
  • Support benefits enrollment administrative tasks
  • Help document basic processes and procedures
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives
  • Provide analytical support for department projects

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Analytics, or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in data analysis, HR support, or administrative roles
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Paylocity experience a plus)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis and reporting

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, basic data analysis)
  • Experience with database systems or reporting tools preferred
  • Basic understanding of HR processes and employee lifecycle
  • Comfortable learning new software systems and technology
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy

  • Interest in pursuing HRIS or HR professional development

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
