- A specialized mechanical engineer responsible for designing, analyzing, and detailing the high-pressure piping systems that connect gas turbines to heat recovery steam generators and subsequent steam turbines. This role combines expertise in thermodynamic cycles, high-temperature material science, and 3D modeling to ensure efficient heat recovery and safe transport of steam.
1. Detail Design & Engineering (DD)
- 3D Modeling & Layout: Developing detailed 3D models (using SP3D, E3D, or PDMS) for piping layouts, including equipment placement (HRSG modules, steam drums, pumps).
- Isometric Generation: Producing, checking, and issuing accurate isometric drawings for fabrication.
- Material Take-Off (MTO): Preparing, reviewing, and managing Bills of Materials (BOM) for piping components, ensuring compliance with project specifications.

2. HRSG-Specific Piping
- Pressure Part Design: Designing steam piping from the boiler/HRSG to the steam turbine generator (STG) inlet, including feedwater, condensate, and BOP (Balance of Plant) piping.
- Flexibility Analysis: Performing stress analysis (Caesar II) on HRSG inlet/outlet piping to account for thermal expansion, ensuring piping flexibility and safety.

3. Coordination & Support
- Inter-discipline Coordination: Working with Process (P&ID review), Civil/Structural (for pipe rack loads), and Instrumentation teams.
- Vendor Document Review: Evaluating vendor drawings, calculations, and data sheets for piping specialties, valves, and specialty items.
- Site Support: Assisting construction teams with field queries, troubleshooting installation issues, and conducting site surveys
