We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment and support the academic and social development of students. Our mission: RFK prepares, motivates, and supports students to achieve their college and career goals in partnership with their families and the community. RFK Charter School serves grades 6 through 12. This position requires a strong commitment to teaching, a love for working with children, and the ability to implement effective lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs.
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, promoting a respectful and productive learning atmosphere.
- Utilize various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adapt instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and share best practices in teaching.
- Provide early intervention strategies for students needing additional support.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to create a supportive community.
- Maintain an organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in behavior management and classroom management techniques.
- Background in childhood development, particularly in middle or high school education settings.
- Familiarity with special education practices is a plus.
- Proven experience working with children, demonstrating patience and understanding of their developmental needs.
- Ability to develop effective lesson plans and contribute to curriculum development initiatives.
- Knowledge of early intervention strategies for supporting diverse learners.

Pay: $56,774.00 - $79,760.00 per year
Expected hours: 10 – 40 per week
