Ensures safe and environmentally responsible operations by developing, implementing, and monitoring HSE policies, procedures, and programs. Provide expert advice, conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents, and promote a strong safety culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing HSE strategies: This includes creating, updating, and overseeing the implementation of HSE management systems, policies, and procedures in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Conducting risk assessments: Identifying potential hazards and evaluating risks associated with various operations, including developing mitigation strategies to minimize those risks.
- Promoting safety awareness:Conducting training sessions, workshops, and toolbox talks to educate employees and contractors on HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Incident investigation and reporting:Investigating incidents, near misses, and accidents to determine root causes, recommend corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
- Monitoring and auditing:Conducting regular safety audits and inspections of facilities and operations to ensure compliance with HSE standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Advising on HSE matters:Providing expert guidance and support to management, employees, and contractors on all aspects of HSE.
- Staying updated on regulations:Keeping abreast of changes in HSE legislation and best practices to ensure the organization remains compliant.
- Emergency response:Participating in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
- Data analysis and reporting:Analyzing HSE performance data, identifying trends, and preparing reports for management and regulatory bodies.
- Promoting a positive HSE culture:Fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility through leadership, communication, and engagement.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., safety engineering, environmental science).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
- Experience in the oil and gas industry atleast 5 years
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., incident management systems).
