Job Summary

Royal Ocean Company looking for HSE Engineer who is supervising and executing on-site marine construction and engineering activities, ensuring that all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and industry standards. The role involves close coordination with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality marine and coastal infrastructure projects such as jetties, quays, breakwaters, dredging works, and offshore structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Supervision: Oversee daily marine construction operations on-site, including piling, dredging, concreting, and installation of marine structures.
  • Technical Support: Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to guide site teams and contractors during project execution.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all materials, equipment, and workmanship comply with project specifications, design standards, and quality requirements.
  • Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Enforce compliance with safety regulations, conduct toolbox talks, and promote safe working practices in accordance with company and statutory HSE policies.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track construction progress against schedules, identify potential delays, and propose corrective actions.
  • Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site reports on progress, manpower, equipment, and materials usage.
  • Coordination: Liaise with project engineers, surveyors, subcontractors, and clients to resolve technical and site issues.
  • Survey & Inspection: Assist in hydrographic and topographic surveys, site inspections, and quality assurance testing.
  • Logistics Management: Supervise marine plant and equipment (barges, cranes, tugs, etc.), ensuring proper operation, maintenance, and deployment.
  • Environmental Compliance: Monitor and mitigate environmental impacts of marine works, ensuring compliance with relevant environmental standards.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Civil Engineering, Offshore Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: +3 years of experience in marine or coastal construction projects (jetty, quay wall, breakwater, dredging, etc.).
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of marine construction methods, materials, and standards.
  • Familiarity with marine equipment and floating plant operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management software.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent leadership and coordination skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic site environment.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
  • HSE or NEBOSH Certification.
  • Offshore Safety Training (BOSIET).
  • First Aid or Marine Safety Training.
