Responsibilities

To ensure compliance with company HSE policies, procedures , international safety standards, and regulatory requirements at the project site. The HSE Engineer will monitor, implement, and improve safety practices to maintain a safe work environment.

  • Implement and monitor the company’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and regulations at the site.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Support the development and implementation of Job Safety Analyses (JSA), Method Statements, and Permit-to-Work systems.
  • Ensure that all activities comply with local regulations, project specifications, and client HSE requirements.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and HSE training sessions for workers and subcontractors.
  • Investigate incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare reports and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate with project management, construction teams, and subcontractors to ensure safe execution of work.
  • Maintain and update HSE documentation, records, and reports as required.
  • Conduct HSE audits and analyze the trends for subcontractors
  • Manage the performance of all their team members, irrespective of the structure below them
  • Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement of HSE performance.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an HSE Engineer in a construction company.
  • NEBOSH / IOSH Managing Safely / OHSA Certification
  • Knowledge of local safety regulations and international standards (OSH, ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
  • Strong understanding of construction site activities and associated hazards
  • Good communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively on site.
  • Strong observation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to train and guide workforce on safety matters.
  • Excellent documentation and reporting capabilities.
