About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Engineer to join our project team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring that all construction activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory and project-specific HSE requirements. As a key member of the site supervision team, you will help uphold our commitment to creating a safe, responsible, and high-performing work environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Construction Manager and Senior HSE Engineer to monitor safety performance, lead site safety initiatives, and promote a proactive safety culture across all project operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular HSE audits and site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, UAE regulations, and international safety standards.
- Perform risk assessments and assist in developing risk mitigation strategies and control measures.
- Review and verify Contractors’ HSE Plans, Procedures, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure alignment with project and contractual obligations.
- Monitor day-to-day construction activities and ensure adherence to safe work practices, method statements, and approved HSE requirements.
- Evaluate the competence and adequacy of Contractors’ safety personnel, training programs, and HSE performance.
- Review safety documentation, including permits, certifications, equipment maintenance records, and safety logs.
- Support the implementation of the company’s HSE policies, procedures, and safety management systems.
- Identify non-conformities, prepare detailed reports, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, coordination sessions, and project HSE performance reviews.
- Assist with incident and accident investigations, preparing comprehensive reports and recommending corrective improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (BSc) or higher.
- Minimum 12 years of overall experience, including at least 8 years in construction safety engineering roles.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001, and related HSE standards.
- Demonstrated experience in site safety inspections, HSE compliance audits, and risk management.
- Solid understanding of equipment safety, emergency response planning, and safety documentation control.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Familiarity with ADNOC requirements, industry safety codes, and UAE regulatory frameworks is highly advantageous.
