Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and proactive Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with HSE guidelines of UAE and the local concerned Authority and promoting a strong safety culture throughout our operations. Job Responsibilities
The primary goal is to prevent accidents, minimize hazards, and maintain a safe and healthy workplace for all employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Implement, and monitor HSE policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues.
- Assist in organizing and conduct regular safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and inductions for all site personnel.
- Investigate all incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure that all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) is available, maintained, and used correctly by workers.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive HSE reports to management, including incident summaries, safety metrics, and audit findings.
- Serve as a point of contact for regulatory bodies and assist with all external inspections and audits.
- Assit emergency response drills (e.g., fire drills, chemical spill drills) to ensure all personnel are prepared.
- Assist in monitoring environmental risks, including waste management, pollution control, and emissions.
- Stay updated on all emerging HSE trends, best practices, and legislative changes.
Requirements
1. Experience and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an HSE Officer, preferably within the construction sector.
- Recognized safety certifications, such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or OSHA, are highly preferred.
2. Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and procedures of UAE and the local concerned Authority.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present and explain complex safety topics clearly.
- Good organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and act decisively in emergency situations.
3. Languages:
- The working language is English. Fluency in English is required.
- The multilingual candidate is preferred.
4. Others:
- A valid UAE driving license.
