• ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer to join our operations team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will oversee all safety and compliance activities related to our oil and gas transport operations, ensuring full alignment with client requirements and UAE regulatory frameworks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies and procedures in line with oil and gas industry standards
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across transport operations
• Liaise directly with all major oil and gas companies operating in the UAE (ADNOC, ADNOC Distribution, TotalEnergies, Shell, and others) to ensure compliance with their specific HSE requirements
• Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training for drivers and field staff
• Investigate incidents, near-misses, and non-conformances; prepare detailed reports and corrective action plans
• Maintain all HSE documentation, permits, and certifications required by clients and regulatory authorities
• Ensure compliance with UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure regulations and relevant international standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001)
• Support management in obtaining and renewing HSE vendor approvals and prequalifications
• Monitor KPIs and report HSE performance to senior management on a regular basis

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 5 years of HSE experience specifically within the oil and gas industry
• Proven track record of working with UAE oil and gas companies and meeting their HSE vendor requirements
• Recognized HSE qualification (NEBOSH General / Oil & Gas Certificate, IOSH, or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of UAE health and safety legislation and oil and gas industry standards
• Experience with incident investigation techniques (TapRoot, 5-Why, or similar)
• Proficiency in preparing and delivering HSE training programs
• Valid UAE driving license is preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus
