Job Overview
The Human Performance Specialist delivers direct human-performance services to Basic Agent Trainees, including instruction, testing, conditioning sessions, feedback, and data collection. The HPS supports the HPC in executing all operational aspects of the program.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct baseline physical and mental performance screenings for each BAT class.
- Deliver instructional sessions covering strength and conditioning, mental performance skills, sleep, stress mitigation, resilience, and nutrition.
- Administer the initial PTT, remedial PTT, and final PTT for each BAT cohort; ensure accurate scoring and documentation.
- Lead approximately 25–30 conditioning sessions per BAT class in accordance with OT requirements.
- Provide individualized corrective exercise recommendations based on screening data.
- Input trainee data into the mobile app and verify accuracy for use in readiness dashboards.
- Support the development of monthly, quarterly, and annual analytics by ensuring reliable data capture.
- Assist with curriculum development and instructional updates to improve training outcomes.
- Support workshop execution across the five human-performance pillars as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum).
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) – required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience delivering physical training instruction, injury-prevention programs, or tactical performance services.
- Competency in body-composition testing, dynamometry, Y-balance, movement screening, and musculoskeletal assessment.
- Proficiency with mobile training/education applications.
- Strong instructional and coaching skills with adult-learning principles.
- Must meet SBU background and suitability requirements; U.S. citizenship required.
Pay: $52,926.78 - $63,739.77 per year
