Human Resource and Operational Support Specialist

Position Summary:

The Human Resource and Operational Support Specialist will play a critical role in both managing HR responsibilities and operational support tasks which assists in the smooth functioning of our home care services.

The HR position involves recruiting, onboarding and scheduling caregivers, managing employee relations, and supporting daily caregiver requests.

Operational Support includes providing home care to clients during an absence. Being organized, empathetic, and adept at multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
Evening and weekend hours are required, as needed.

Human Resources:

  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Source, screen, and interview candidates for caregiver roles. Coordinate onboarding, including background checks, training, and orientation.
  • Employee Relations: Address employee concerns, foster a positive workplace culture, and mediate conflicts to maintain high morale and retention.

Operational Support:

  • Scheduling: Assist in creating and managing caregiver schedules to ensure adequate coverage for client needs.
  • Caregiving: Provide care to clients on an as needed basis. This responsibility would be to assist during call-offs or to cover an absent caregiver.
  • Client Coordination: Liaise with clients and families to address scheduling or care-related inquiries, ensuring high satisfaction.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of Three (3) years of experience as an in-home Caregiver or Home Health Aide required.
  • Familiarity with all levels of care, including but not limited to dementia care, transfers (including gait belts and Hoyer lifts), and end-of-life care, required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to work evenings or weekends, as needed.
  • Must understand and uphold the policies and procedures established by Hummingbird Home Care LLC.
  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to listen effectively.
  • Must have the ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality of information, and meet deadlines.
  • The ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills is essential, as well as sound judgment and good decision-making skills.
  • Must demonstrate discretion, integrity, and fair-mindedness decisions with company standards, practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Must have the ability to organize and prioritize daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly work.
  • Must have the ability to establish good working relationships with office colleagues, the owner, clients, and the community.
  • Must present a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Must have computer skills and be proficient in both Word and Excel.

This position will include travel within the Cleveland/Northeast Ohio area.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 45 per week
