Position Summary:

The HR Intern will assist the HR team in day-to-day operations while gaining hands-on exposure to full-cycle HR activities. A key focus of this internship will be supporting the transition of our HRIS and payroll systems, including data migration, accuracy audits, and file restructuring. This role provides practical experience in HR administration, HRIS data integrity, employee onboarding documentation, compliance tracking, job description support, and HR project coordination.

This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates exploring a career in Human Resources within an employee-owned, high-tech manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

HRIS Migration & HR Administration

  • Assist with the HRIS and payroll system migration, including data validation, file structure alignment, and coordination with stakeholders.

  • Support employee record audits, both digital (HRIS/payroll) and hard-copy files, to ensure accuracy, compliance, and readiness for system transition.

  • Assist in organizing, updating, and transferring onboarding documentation, personnel files, compensation history, and position data.

Documentation & Talent Structure

  • Help update and maintain job descriptions, role profiles, and organizational chart documentation.

  • Support research and documentation of job families and role levels across functions.

  • Assist in maintaining recordkeeping for policy acknowledgments, training records, I-9s, certifications, and compliance-related documents.

HR Policy, Compliance & Best Practice Research

  • Track required HR training and policy acknowledgment completions.

  • Support HR in monitoring evolving employment legislation and helping identify best practices related to compliance, retention, and employee engagement.

Project Coordination & Engagement

  • Provide administrative support for HR initiatives, employee engagement programs, and culture-building activities.

  • Assist with internal HR communications, SharePoint content updates, coordination of meetings, and preparation of materials.

Qualifications

Education

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, Organizational Psychology, or related field.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in document handling.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); willingness to learn new systems, including HRIS platforms.

  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

  • Strong organizational skills, with a proactive and service-oriented mindset.

  • Interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources.
