Human Resource Manager - Property Management & Construction

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, highly organized Human Resources professional to support our property management and construction operations from our corporate office. This role is ideal for someone who is tough, detail-oriented, and able to manage sensitive employee matters with accuracy, consistency, and discretion. The right candidate will bring strong HR experience in construction and property management, with a solid understanding of California labor law and workers’ compensation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day HR functions for property management and construction staff.
  • Support hourly employee relations, onboarding, discipline, documentation, and terminations.
  • Handle workers’ compensation reporting, claims follow-up, and related documentation.
  • Maintain accurate personnel files, incident records, and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure HR policies and practices align with California labor and employment requirements.
  • Assist with investigations, coaching, corrective action, and employee issue resolution.
  • Work closely with leadership to support a compliant, organized, and efficient corporate office operation.
  • Track and document all employee matters thoroughly and consistently.

Qualifications

  • Prior HR experience in construction and/or property management.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in the profession
  • Experience with workers’ compensation administration.
  • Strong knowledge of California labor law and employee relations practices.
  • Experience managing hourly employees.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to document everything clearly and accurately.
  • Strong communication skills and professional judgment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a huge plus.
