Watts Labor Community Action Committee is a non-profit organization providing Employment, Youth, Family, Homeless, Senior and other services in communities throughout South Los Angeles.

Overview
This position is to provide Administrative Support for the Human Resources function within the Administrative Division of WLCAC. We are seeking a dedicated professional with a experience in Benefits Management to join our team. This role is essential to managing Employee Benefits Programs and ensuring compliance with Federal, as well as State Employment Rules and Regulation. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a comprehensive understanding of Benefits Administration.

Responsibilities

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with FMLA, OSHA, and other employment and labor laws.
  • Assist in talent acquisition processes including recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new employees.
  • Conduct employee orientation and training & development initiatives to enhance workforce management.
  • Manage HRIS data entry and maintain accurate records related to employee records and benefits administration.
  • Collaborate on strategic planning initiatives related to organization design and planning.
  • Facilitate communication regarding benefits options and changes to employees.
  • Assist in conflict management and employee relations issues as they arise.
  • Utilize HR technologies such as ADP Workforcenow for efficient HR operations.
  • Develop and maintain a filing system for Employee Benefits all other insurance as may be required for business operation
  • Mantain records of benefits plans, employee enrollments, and keeps calendar of premiums due dates and payments.
  • Process and ensure proper payroll deductions for employee benefits premiums. Conduct Benefits Audits.
  • Assist with preparation of Annual Open Enrollment and benfit plan offered. Prepare interdepartmental notices to inform of benefits options, renewals and plan changes.
  • Assist in compiling data for renewals - compile statistical data reports for insurance companies and departments in the organization
  • Answers telephone, maintain HRIS databases, and other computer programs, uses facsimile and copiers, maintains consumable supplies for department and responsible for other clerical duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Human Resources with a focus on benefits administration.
  • Knowledge of human capital management principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with employment & labor law, change management, affirmative action planning, and workers' compensation.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in HR sourcing techniques and talent management strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with employees at all levels.
  • Administrative experience in an HR setting is highly desirable.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years direct work related experience
  • Knowledge of employee benefits requirements
  • Familiarity with State and Federal labor law requirements
  • Familiarity with claims processing and medical terminology
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess strong general clerical skills and computer literacy
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now highly desired

Educational Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED Equivalent
  • Some college education in business courses or certified Human Resource programs highly desirable

Other Requirements

  • Valid California Driver License with acceptable vehicle insurance
  • Acceptable driving record

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 per hour
