In this unique dual role, you’ll play a key part in both Human Resources (70%) and Accounting (30%), helping keep our operations running smoothly while fostering a positive, connected workplace culture. From onboarding new hires and managing benefits to reconciling invoices and supporting month-end close, you’ll have a hand in projects that truly make an impact.

Job Summary

The HR and Accounting Coordinator provides dual support across Human Resources (70%) and Accounting (30%), with peak accounting responsibilities at month-end and during invoice cycles. This role is central to creating a positive, engaging employee experience while ensuring accurate financial and compliance practices.


On the HR side, the Coordinator leads onboarding and offboarding, benefits administration, SOPs, compliance, and supports safety initiatives. Equally important, this role helps shape company culture as Co-Captain of the Spirit Committee, driving events, recognition programs, newsletters, and creative engagement activities that connect employees across all departments. The Coordinator contributes directly to a positive workplace culture by supporting reward systems, employee celebrations, and communication that makes Sonoma Craft a great place to work.


On the Accounting side, the Coordinator assists with invoicing, reconciliations, and 401(k) allocations, ensuring accurate and timely financial processing.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Human Resources (70%)

Onboarding and Offboarding

  • Lead onboarding for new hires, including compliance documentation, systems setup, and orientation.
  • Coordinate day-in-the-life schedules to integrate new hires with teams and departments.
  • Process offboarding checklists and compliance requirements.

Benefits Administration

  • Serve as primary contact for employee benefits questions and issue resolution.
  • Administer Ease platform for enrollments and changes.
  • Reconcile benefit invoices (Kaiser, Sutter, MetLife) and ensure accuracy.
  • Partner with brokers (Risk Strategies, Transamerica, George Peterson) on plan administration.
  • Conduct employee benefits trainings to educate and encourage utilization of programs.

Compliance and SOPs

  • Maintain HR-related SOPs and ensure compliance with labor law requirements.
  • Support HR audits, reporting, and policy documentation.

Payroll, IT, and Recruiting Support

  • Serve as payroll backup and process Off cycle payroll when needed.
  • Coordinate IT support requests and equipment for new hires and current employees.
  • Assist with recruiting coordination, including scheduling and candidate communication.

Employee Engagement and Culture

  • Co-Captain the Spirit Committee, planning events, celebrations, and recognition activities.
  • Lead quarterly newsletters with engagement updates from all departments.
  • Support employee reward and recognition programs.
  • As a Human Resources Representative, uphold the responsibility to immediately report any workplace injuries, safety hazards, harassment, or misconduct in accordance with company policy and legal obligations.

Safety and Compliance Support

  • Partner with HR Manager and leadership on safety programs and compliance.
  • Assist with incident reporting, safety tracking, and communication.

Accounting (30%)

  • Process daily, weekly, and monthly invoicing.
  • Reconcile benefit invoices in coordination with Accounting Manager.
  • Manage 401(k) allocations and reporting.
  • Support month-end close with reconciliations and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and payroll-related expenses.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in HR, Accounting, or combined support roles.
  • Strong knowledge of onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience reconciling benefit invoices and managing 401(k) allocations.
  • Proficiency with HRIS (BambooHR, Ease), accounting systems, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to balance daily responsibilities and monthly deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, service-oriented approach.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm for employee engagement, recognition programs, and cultural initiatives.
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • This position is based in an active beverage production environment subject to the physical and environmental conditions outlined under Cal/OSHA Title 8, Section 3203 (Injury and Illness Prevention).
  • The employee is regularly exposed to loud noise levels consistent with industrial machinery, as defined by Cal/OSHA noise exposure standards.
  • Work areas may include exposure to wet and slippery surfaces, pressurized equipment, hot water, steam, alcohol vapors, cleaning chemicals, powered industrial trucks (PITs), and moving mechanical parts.
  • Temperature conditions may vary seasonally and may include warm, humid, or refrigerated environments.
  • The employee is expected to follow all applicable safety policies, wear required PPE, and participate in routine safety training and inspections.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applicable California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) guidelines, the physical requirements of this position are:

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift).
  • Occasionally required to sit, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or climb ladders/stairs.
  • Occasionally required to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Frequently required to use hands and fingers for grasping, handling, and performing precision tasks.
  • Frequently required to see, hear, speak, and communicate clearly in a noisy manufacturing environment.
  • Occasionally required to distinguish smells or tastes for quality assurance purposes.
  • You must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety glasses, ear protection, and protective footwear, as required.
