About the Role:
As an HR Assistant at Laparkan, you will play a key role in supporting our Southeast Region (SER) by managing day-to-day administrative HR functions. You will help ensure a positive employee experience while supporting HR operations that align with Laparkan's values of growth, innovation, and teamwork.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Serve as a first point of contact for internal and external HR-related inquiries, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of issues.
- Support recruitment efforts, from posting job openings and screening candidates to scheduling interviews and administering skills tests.
- Conduct background and reference checks as part of our pre-employment process to ensure we’re bringing in the best talent.
- Administer benefits for SER employees, ensuring compliance with deadlines for enrollment and benefit changes.
- Assist with onboarding new hires, including preparing materials, conducting orientations, and helping them settle into their new roles.
- Coordinate training sessions and development opportunities to enhance the skills of our team.
- Manage HR records with confidentiality and ensure compliance with company policies and local labor laws.
- Assist with special events such as open enrollment webinars, team meetings, and seasonal celebrations that foster a positive workplace culture.
- Maintain accurate employee uniform and PPE inventory, ensuring resources are readily available for the team.
- Track employee progress, recommend professional development initiatives, and support ongoing HR audits to maintain compliance.
What We're Looking For:
- Education & Experience: Associate’s Degree or equivalent; 2-4 years of experience in HR administration or a similar role (or a combination of education and experience).
- HR Knowledge: A basic understanding of federal and local labor laws and a proven ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Technology Proficiency: Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and various HR tools (HRIS experience is a plus!).
- Multitasker: Ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Customer-Centric: Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on excellent customer service and employee support.
- Team Player: Collaborative attitude with the ability to work closely with other HR team members to meet departmental goals.
