We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team. This individual will support HR Director with a focus on recruitment, onboarding, personnel file maintenance, and other administrative functions. The ideal candidate has experience in a child welfare or mental health agency and demonstrates a high level of computer proficiency.
Education
Experience
Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a child welfare agency or mental health agency
High degree of computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (UKG Ready Preferred).

Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of HR best practices and labor laws
1. Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
2. Conducts benefits enrollment for new employees.
3. Verifies I-9 documentation and maintains books current.
4. Submits online investigation requests and assists with new employee background checks.
5. Reconciles the benefits statements.
6. Conducts audits of various payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends any corrective action.
7. Updates HR spreadsheet with employee change requests and processes paperwork.
8. Assists with processing of terminations.
9. Assists with the preparation of the performance review forms.
10. Assists HR Director with various research projects and/or special projects.
11. Assists with recruitment and interview process.
12. Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by HR Director
13. Tracks FMLA Leave and sends FMLA Correspondents.
14. Post job openings to appropriate outlets.
15. Make photocopies, faxes document and perform other clerical functions.
16. Files papers and documents into appropriate employee files.
17. Completes employment verifications.
18. Assists or prepares correspondence.
19. Prepare new employee files.
20. Handles confidential and sensitive information.
21. Processes mail.
22. Participates in the agency’s Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Program
23. Contributes to the understanding and acceptance of cultural diversity within the agency and the community.
24. Complies with all relevant JCAHO standards and regulations.
25. Utilizes the agency’s resources in a fiscally conservative manner.
26. Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor
