Human Resources Assistant (Bilingual – English/Spanish)

Full-Time | On-Site | Construction & Field Workforce

Why This Role Matters

This role is the backbone of our HR operations.

As our Human Resources Assistant, you’ll support the HR Director while serving as a trusted, approachable resource for employees, especially in the field. You’ll own day-to-day HR processes, keep our systems accurate and compliant, and help ensure employees feel supported from day one.

If you’re organized, people-focused, and take pride in doing things right, this role gives you real responsibility and impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate new hire onboarding from offer acceptance through first day
  • Ensure employment documentation is accurate and completed on time (I-9s, tax forms, policies, direct deposit)
  • Maintain employee records and lifecycle changes in UKG
  • Keep employee files complete, compliant, and audit-ready
  • Manage unemployment claims and workforce tracking
  • Serve as day-to-day owner of HR data in UKG and support reporting and audits
  • Conduct regular employee check-ins at job sites and field locations
  • Serve as a first point of contact for HR questions in English and Spanish
  • Document trends, escalate concerns, and partner with leadership on follow-up
  • Support HR projects and priorities as needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in HR, administrative, or people-support roles
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
  • Experience working in HR systems (UKG strongly preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
  • Comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive, dependable, and people-oriented

Experience with onboarding, compliance, unemployment claims, or field-based workforces is a plus.

What Success Looks Like

  • HR data is accurate, current, and audit-ready
  • Employee transactions are handled correctly and on time
  • Employees feel informed, supported, and heard
  • Compliance tasks are proactive, not reactive
  • The HR Director can stay focused on strategic priorities

Why You’ll Want This Role

  • Real ownership, not just task work
  • Direct partnership with leadership
  • Exposure to broader HR initiatives and growth opportunities
  • A people-first culture that values doing things right
