Summary: Supervised by the Director of HR and under the direction of the Illinois HR Generalist, the Human Resources Assistant for our Illinois Office serves as a contact for employees and leaders fielding general Human Resource related questions and needs. The HR Assistant is responsible for supporting the HR Generalist by providing support with various HR functions including but not limited to: talent acquisition, benefits, training and development, event support, data entry, drafting communications, running reports, maintaining equipment and keeping supplies stocked.

Education and/or Experience: Associate’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field. One year of HR experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management and prior experience with an HRIS database preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in front of groups.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to analyze and interpret data.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form. Ability to identify and resolve complex problems in a timely manner. Ability to gather and analyze information.
Computer Skills: Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS and other computer programs.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: A valid driver's license with a past driving record that meets the standards set forth by the organization and valid vehicle insurance is required. Ability to complete and maintain all required training in accordance with organizational, State, and Federal regulations. PHR certification preferred.
Driving Requirements: This position requires that an employee is able to drive for work purposes.
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to maintain confidentiality, prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, and deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events. Strong project management, interpersonal, and creative problem-solving skills. .
Other Qualifications: Experience in the Human Services industry preferred.

Salary Description
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Part-time
Monday - Friday, 20 hours per week
