Responsibilities/ Duties: Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provides guidance and administration on various HR plans & procedures for all site personnel; Responsible for the development, administration, and review of site-level personnel policies and procedures. Works closely with the various manufacturing departments to ensure that HR policies and practices are being followed and evenly administered throughout the plant. Communicate any new corporate or local policies or procedures throughout the organization.
- Works with leadership to develop the correct staffing levels across the facility. Recruits, selects, and processes exempt and non-exempt employees with affected department heads.
- Raises proactive issues with managers, identifies practical solutions to complex and diverse HR issues, and recommends and helps implement appropriate action plans.
- Counsels with employees on job performance, personal problems, and company policies. Conducts investigations with appropriate documentation, follow-up, and necessary next performance steps.
- Assists in coordinating health and safety programs (OSHA) and works closely with the Safety Supervisor in directing plant-wide safety standards.
- Responsible for all bumping/lay-off procedures resulting from employee transfers and/or reduction in workforce and/or any terminations across the facility.
- Assists in establishing pay rates for all hourly jobs. Assists in administering the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary. Provides research and data needed to ensure competitiveness in wages.
- Participates in developing departmental goals, objectives, and systems. Coordinates, develops, and instructs various educational training programs.
- Coordinates plant-wide benefit programs, including communicating benefit information to employees and escalating issues when appropriate.
- Maintains NPX ONE, LLC's equal opportunity hiring practices and updates programs in order to be in compliance with government on-site audits.
- Maintains HR information system records and compiles reports from this database. Maintains compliance with state and federal regulations concerning employment.
- Strong oversight to ensure accurate management of payroll data, attendance, and disciplines by HR administrator.
- Establishes and administers the budget for the local Human Resources Department, assuring that effective cost control measures are utilized.
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings as requested/required. Maintains site org charts and employee directory.
- Oversight of community involvement initiatives.
- All other related duties as required/requested by the Plant Manager and corporate HR.
Education/ Special Skills/ Experience/ Training:- Education/Work Experience: A bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Administration, Business Administration, or a related field and three to five years of human resource experience in a manufacturing environment. A Master’s degree and /or SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP certification is a strong plus.
- Language Ability: English, Spanish is a plus, but not required
- Math Ability: Proficient in mathematical and computer skills, including basic financial analysis and management.
- Reasoning Ability: Pragmatic problem-solving skills. Must be able to use data to drive decisions. Must be able to interpret and apply policy to a variety of situations and understand when to consult others.
