Position Summary

The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day functions of the HR department, including recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, compliance, and general HR administration. This position serves as a key point of contact for employees and applicants, ensuring HR processes are handled efficiently, confidentially, and in alignment with company policies and employment laws. The HR Coordinator plays a vital role in maintaining a positive workplace culture and supporting the organization’s human capital needs.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Coordinate full-cycle recruitment activities, including posting jobs, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  • Prepare offer letters and facilitate new hire onboarding, ensuring all required documentation is completed.
  • Conduct employee orientation sessions to introduce company policies, culture, and procedures.

Employee Records & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee files in accordance with state and federal employment regulations.
  • Monitor compliance with mandatory training, certifications, and employment requirements (e.g., background checks, professional licenses).
  • Assist with HR audits and ensure documentation aligns with company standards and legal requirements.

Benefits & HR Administration

  • Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and responding to employee inquiries.Maintain and update HRIS data; generate and distribute reports as requested by leadership.
  • Track and support performance review processes and assist with policy updates.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Assist with employee relations by documenting incidents, coordinating meetings, and ensuring consistent policy application.
  • Coordinate employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and internal communications.
  • Support offboarding processes, including conducting exit interviews and processing final documentation and benefits termination.

Other Duties

  • Participate in special projects and other HR-related tasks as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (required).
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification (required).
  • 6+ years of HR coordination or generalist experience, including payroll administration.
  • Strong knowledge of HRIS and payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paycom, or similar).
  • Excellent communication, confidentiality, and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of multi-state labor laws and employment practices.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite.

Work Environment & Hours

This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Escondido, CA.

Standard work hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM PST.
**Occasional after-hours meetings or training sessions may be required to support HR operations.
