We're growing fast and looking for a dedicated, bilingual Human Resource Assistant to support our team and help manage the heart of our business — our people.

Position Summary

The Human Resource Assistant will support day-to-day HR operations with a focus on recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and administrative tasks. This role is ideal for someone with solid HR experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, field-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage job postings, screen resumes, schedule interviews, and support full-cycle recruiting for flaggers, field staff, and office roles.
  • Conduct onboarding and orientation for new hires, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety protocols.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns, escalating as needed to HR management.
  • Maintain organized and accurate employee records, certifications, and training logs.
  • Track attendance, PTO, and employee changes; assist with payroll processing as needed.
  • Handle unemployment claims, including verification, documentation, and communication with state agencies.
  • Assist in handling employee relations matters including performance issues, disciplinary actions, and investigations with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Use QuickBooks and Microsoft Office to complete HR and administrative tasks (e.g., warnings, reports, HR documentation).
  • Help organize safety meetings, training events, and compliance tracking.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 1–2 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a field-service or construction-related industry.
  • Experience in recruiting and employee relations is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks for timekeeping or HR-related tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; approachable and professional.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Must be discreet with confidential information and sensitive employee matters.
  • Knowledge of HR laws and regulations is a plus.
  • Experience handling unemployment claims and understanding of the process is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with flagging, traffic control, or construction workforce is a strong plus.
