We are entering our next stage of growth and seek an HR leader who can align people strategy with business performance, culture, and long-term success.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Director is a strategic and operational leader responsible for shaping and executing the company’s human capital strategy. This position performs all HR functions, including talent acquisition, organizational development, employee relations, compliance, and culture. Ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate is a business-minded HR leader who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment, combining executive-level vision with practical execution to support both office and field-based teams.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Planning

  • Partner with executive leadership to design and implement an HR strategy that supports growth, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on organizational design, workforce planning, and leadership development.
  • Lead initiatives that strengthen company culture, engagement, and retention across all levels of the organization.

Talent Management & Development

  • Build a strong talent pipeline by leading recruitment, succession planning, and career development strategies.
  • Create and implement performance management systems that drive accountability and professional growth.
  • Champion training and development programs, including leadership and technical training for field and service teams.

Compensation, Benefits & Total Rewards

  • Oversee competitive compensation and benefits strategies to attract and retain top talent.
  • Conduct annual salary reviews, benchmarking, and incentive plan evaluations.
  • Partner with finance to ensure alignment between compensation structures and business performance.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Lead employee relations, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant practices.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
  • Oversee HR audits, policy updates, and employee handbook revisions.

HR Operations & Systems

  • Manage HR systems (HRIS, payroll, benefits administration) for efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Track and analyze HR metrics such as turnover, retention, engagement, and workforce costs.
  • Develop standardized HR processes to support scalability and consistency across locations.

Culture & Engagement

  • Foster a positive, safety-oriented, and values-driven work environment.
  • Lead engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and internal communications that reinforce company culture.
  • Serve as an ambassador of the company’s mission, vision, and values.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience
  • Experience in construction, equipment rental, manufacturing, or field-service industries strongly preferred.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certification a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proven ability to align HR strategy with business goals in a mid-sized, growing organization.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, safety compliance, and workforce development.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success leading both strategic initiatives and tactical HR operations.
  • Proficiency with HRIS, payroll, and reporting systems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
