The Human Resources Director is responsible for leading and executing human resources strategy and operations in alignment with business objectives, under the direction of the Vice President of Human Resources. This role serves as a strategic consultant and trusted advisor to leadership and employees on all HR-related matters, including employee relations, talent acquisition, compliance, performance management, and organizational effectiveness.
The HR Director plays a critical role in delivering value-added HR services, ensuring operational excellence, and serving as the primary owner and subject matter expert of the organization’s HRIS and people systems, driving data integrity, reporting, and process optimization.
Essential Functions
- Lead full-cycle recruitment using applicant tracking systems and job boards, including LinkedIn Recruiter and Indeed, to source, interview, and hire talent at all organizational levels.
- Oversee candidate offer and rejection processes, background checks, references, onboarding, new hire documentation, and orientation programs.
- Manage complex and sensitive employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, employee complaints, harassment and discrimination investigations, and corrective action planning. Conduct exit interviews, analyze trends, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Serve as a strategic partner to leaders on training, development, and workforce planning initiatives. Recommend and implement organization-wide and targeted training programs (e.g., performance management, leadership development, compliance, harassment prevention).
- Lead administration and optimization of the Employee Engagement and Performance Management platform, partnering with vendors to develop quarterly review cycles, templates, workflows, and follow-up processes.
- Create, update, and evaluate job descriptions to ensure federal, state, and regulatory compliance, including FLSA classification. Conduct compensation benchmarking and market analysis to advise leadership on competitive pay structures.
- Administer and continuously improve HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook content. Recommend new approaches to enhance efficiency, compliance, and employee experience.
- Partner with Compliance and Safety teams to ensure adherence to Health & Safety policies, mandates, and reporting requirements.
- Serve as the HRIS Owner and Subject Matter Expert, responsible for system configuration, data integrity, reporting, analytics, and continuous improvement. Develop custom reports, dashboards, and metrics to support business decisions and compliance requirements.
- Lead HRIS optimization initiatives, including system enhancements, integrations, process automation, and user training. Act as the primary liaison with HRIS vendors.
- Prepare and distribute companywide HR communications, leadership updates, and policy announcements.
- Provide backup support for benefits administration and payroll processing as needed.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; minimum of a two-year college degree and/or HR certification required
- Minimum of four (4) years of progressive human resources experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations, including recruitment, employee relations, learning and development, wage and hour compliance, benefits administration, payroll fundamentals, and health & safety
- Hands-on experience leading HRIS platforms, system reporting, analytics, and process optimization
Language Ability
English required as the primary business language; Spanish required as a secondary language. Ability to read, interpret, and communicate policies, procedures, safety rules, and operational documentation. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage employees, leadership, and external partners.
Computer & HRIS Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- High proficiency with HRIS platforms; Paylocity experience strongly preferred (or comparable systems)
- Ability to generate advanced HR metrics, reports, dashboards, and compliance documentation
- Experience leveraging HR technology to improve efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience
Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
