Job Summary
The My Auto Group is a growing automotive group with 8 locations in the West and Central Michigan area. We are seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources Director to lead our HR initiatives and foster a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace environment. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of human resources management, including mediating risk, payroll, onboarding, and healthcare. This position requires working from primarily our locations in Muskegon and Nunica.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational objectives, including strategic planning and process improvement initiatives.
- Manage employee relations by addressing conflicts, conducting employee evaluations, and facilitating effective communication across teams.
- Ensure compliance with employment & labor law, OSHA regulations, Workers' Compensation policies, and other legal requirements.
- Administer benefits programs including benefits administration, payroll processing through systems.
- Manage workers’ compensation claims and ensure OSHA compliance to maintain a safe work environment.
- Develop policies related to contracts, employee benefits, and organizational design that support company objectives.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of employment & labor law, FMLA regulations, OSHA standards, and workers' compensation procedures.
- Strong negotiation skills with experience in contracts management.
- Excellent communication skills for effective presentation delivery and engagement at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in HRIS platforms, and demonstrated experience working with payroll.
- Ability to lead organizational design initiatives while managing change effectively within complex environments.
- Strong understanding of performance management processes including employee evaluation systems.
- Skilled in conflict management techniques and employee relations strategies that foster a positive workplace culture.
