Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

Department: Human Resources

Reports To: VP of Human Resources

Position location: This role is required to be in the office in Overland Park, KS Tues-Thurs on a weekly basis.


Job Summary


The Human Resources Generalist is accountable for the execution and delivery of HR products, services, and solutions in support of activities to ensure HR service delivery excellence. Provides direction and guidance to supervisors and employees on policies and procedures; guides the escalation and resolution of HR questions, issues, and requests to the appropriate channels.


Job Responsibilities

  • Manages and resolves common to complex employee relations issues to include formal investigations.
  • Partners with management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, and other government regulations.
  • Gathers data regarding the employee experience at various points in the career life cycle, for example onboarding and exit surveys. Makes recommendations to ensure continuous improvement of the employee experience.
  • Ensures delivery of superior client service by personally resolving issues, answering questions, or liaising with other colleagues in the resolution of various payroll, benefits, or other employment-related issues.
  • Coordinate with the various HR functional areas, where appropriate, to provide expert level service in response to various associate needs, such as payroll issues, family/medical leave, disability accommodations, and training.
  • Maintain confidential employee and organizational information.
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation.
  • May help create and conduct training on specific HR topics.
  • Assist with unemployment and worker’s compensation procedures as necessary.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties etc.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by the Vice President of Human Resources.
  • Assist managers and supervisors with performance reviews.
  • Serves as payroll backup for all company locations.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Actively pursues self-development on HR trends, improvement of soft skills, business acumen, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience


Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous payroll and benefits administration experience preferred. Knowledge of tribal employment law preferred.

This is a limited hybrid position. Candidates MUST reside in the Kansas City Metro area in order to be considered. No exceptions. Our business is currently operating in a hybrid manner however this MAY change or vary in 2023, based on the environment and business need. This role is currently required to be in the office Tues-Thurs on a weekly basis.
