Human Resources Generalist
Reports to: Human Resources Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt / Full-Time
Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist supports the day-to-day operations of the HR department by administering policies, procedures, and programs that ensure compliance, enhance employee engagement, and promote a positive workplace culture.
Essential Responsibilities
- Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments, including safety, anti-harassment, professional licensure, and certification requirements.
- Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with department leaders to identify skills and competencies needed for openings.
- Conduct or coordinate background checks and employment eligibility verifications.
- Implement and manage new hire orientation and employee programs.
- Administer and execute human resource programs including, but not limited to: compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Respond to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex or sensitive matters to HR Manager.
- Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, reviewing policies and practices to ensure continued compliance.
- Stay current with HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or ability to quickly learn HRIS and talent management systems.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of related HR experience required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- SHRM-CP or equivalent HR certification preferred.
- Spanish language proficiency a plus.
