Position Overview

The HR Generalist supports the people operations of Reese Enterprises / Astro Plastics by executing key HR programs and processes that enhance organizational performance, employee engagement, and compliance. This position works closely with plant and corporate leadership to provide comprehensive support across all HR disciplines, including recruitment, employee relations, payroll, benefits, and compliance.

This is a fully on-site role in Rosemount, MN.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Management and Employee Relations

  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, recruit and onboard new hires, and support retention efforts.
  • Serve as a trusted HR contact for employees and supervisors, providing guidance on policies, employee relations, and performance issues.
  • Support the performance management cycle, including goal setting, reviews, and coaching.

Payroll and HR Administration

  • Coordinate and process biweekly payroll in collaboration with the corporate payroll team, ensuring accuracy and timely submission of hours, pay adjustments, and deductions.
  • Review timekeeping data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies prior to payroll submission.
  • Maintain and update employee records
  • Handle personnel changes, job transfers, and terminations in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Protect sensitive employee data and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.

Compliance and Policy Implementation

  • Administer and monitor compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations, including EEO, ADA, FMLA, and wage and hour laws.
  • Partner with safety and operations leaders to promote a compliant and safe work environment.

Compensation, Benefits, and Engagement

  • Assist employees with benefit enrollment, eligibility, and inquiries.
  • Provide support for compensation adjustments, merit increases, and incentive programs.
  • Help coordinate employee engagement, recognition, and culture-building initiatives.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline HR and payroll processes to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Contribute to HR metrics, reporting, and audit preparation as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent HR experience.
  • Three or more years of HR generalist experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Prior experience with payroll processing and timekeeping systems such as ADP or Paycor
  • Solid understanding of HR laws, practices, and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Work Environment

  • Work is primarily performed in an office setting with routine interaction on the production floor. Safety gear (hearing, eye, and foot protection) is required when in manufacturing areas.
