OVERVIEW:
Newkirk Logistics is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team. As the Human Resources Generalist, you will play a key role in supporting our HR and Compliance Department to ensure the smooth operation of all HR functions. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our organization by providing HR expertise and support to our staff.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the full life cycle of the employee experience, from recruitment to separation
- Conduct interviews, recruiting and vetting of new staff
- Oversee onboarding and orientation processes for new hires
- Coordinate performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and development plans
- Support strategic planning initiatives by providing HR insights and recommendations
- Manage HR projects, such as policy development or process improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation-Employment laws and regulations
- Maintain accurate staff records and data entry in HR systems
- Assist with payroll processing using Paylocity or similar business practices
- Provide guidance and support to staff on HR-related matters
- Assist with staff relations, issues and investigations
- Oversee staff offboarding processes

Requirements:
- Human Resources Degree or related field preferred
- Proven experience as an HR Generalist or similar role
- Strong knowledge of human resources management principles and best practices
- Experience with SAP or similar HRIS systems
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations
- Proficient in data entry and record keeping

Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Performance Management systems/tools
- Strategic planning experience
- Contract management experience
- Experience in recruiting and talent acquisition strategies
- Proficiency in social media management for recruitment purposes

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
