Human Resources Generalist

POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Generalist supports the full employee lifecycle by performing a wide range of HR functions, including account setup and systems administration, recruitment and onboarding, training and compliance tracking, benefits support, employee relations, personnel file management, leave administration, and performance management support. This role ensures HR operations are conducted in accordance with internal policies as well as EEOC, ADA, FMLA, OSHA, state and federal labor laws, and other applicable regulatory or licensing requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field from an accredited institution (or equivalent experience).
- Two to five years of HR experience, preferably in a healthcare, psychiatric, or a rehabilitation setting.
- Proficiency with Excel and other PC-based applications; experience with HRIS systems like Gusto preferred.
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or HRCI) preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
RECRUITING AND ONBOARDING
- Coordinates full-cycle recruiting including job postings, applicant screening, interview scheduling, and applicant communication.
- Supports hiring managers through candidate evaluation and selection processes, ensuring best practices are used and candidates meet job requirements and organizational fit.
- Creates and delivers offers of employment in line with equitable hiring practices.
- Conducts background checks, reference verifications, and pre-employment requirements.
- Completes onboarding procedures, including orientation scheduling, I-9 completion, new hire paperwork, and HRIS and Microsoft account activation.
- Completing Credentialing for new providers, ensuring accurate documentation of role specific requirements and license verification.
- Manages account setup across internal systems, communication platforms, and access controls.
TRAINING AND COMPLIANCE
- Maintains annual mandatory training tracking, documentation, and auditing.
- Assigns and monitors Relias and other training plans.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, Joint Commission, DHS and other regulatory standards.
- Supports managers in ensuring staff complete onboarding, annual training, and role-specific certifications and licensure.
BENEFITS AND HR ADMINISTARTION
- Provides employee support in understanding and accessing company benefit programs.
- Assists with benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, and general benefit inquiries.
- Creates and updates employee personnel files, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
- Manages HR SharePoint organization and secure document retention.
- Generates regular HR reports and assists leadership with data analysis and compliance audits.
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS AND PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
- Assists leadership in conducting employee relations investigations.
- Provides guidance and documentation support for corrective action and disciplinary processes.
- Supports annual and probationary performance review processes.
- Mediates workplace concerns and facilitates communication between employees and supervisors.
- Maintains and communicates grievance procedures and assists in the resolution of employee concerns.
LEAVE ADMINISTRATION AND WORKERS COMPENSATION
- Coordinates FMLA, ADA accommodations, OFLA, PFML and other state leave programs.
- Processes workers’ compensation claims and monitors return-to-work processes.
- Manages unemployment claims and communicates with state agencies as required.
GENERAL HR OPERATIONS
- Maintains job descriptions, organizational charts, and HR policies.
- Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, ERISA, EEO reporting, and other legal requirements.
- Assists in developing and implementing HR processes, systems, and technology solutions to improve efficiency.
- Promotes positive employee experience and supports engagement and retention initiatives.

- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for up to four continuous hours
- Ability to hear/perceive the nature of sound with no less than 40 dB loss @ Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz with or without correction: ability to perceive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound
- Ability to occasionally carry or lift program materials of up to 15 pounds. (i.e., briefcases, clients’ belongings, etc.)
- Ability to see with a minimum standard of visual acuity, with or without correction, that will enable people in the role to complete administrative and clerical tasks and visually observe clients on the unit and in therapeutic activities.

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
